We filmed the first episode of Wishlist this past weekend!
And! Spoiler alert! It was really fun.
This little series will consist of episodes that feature girls like us making their wishes come true, as well as episodes about wishes.
Since Wishlist was announced, there’s been a lot of interest from ya’ll about your personal dreams. Many of you have getting a photo shoot at the top of your wishlist but were understandably (and relatably) nervous about it. For this first episode we thought it would be helpful to show you what a photo shoot is typically like.
You probably have heard of Grinkie Photography, a photo studio in Minneapolis, owned by the amazing Christi Williams. Christi specializes in retro/pin up/boudoir photography and she recently opened a new studio. Her motto is “Grinkie Girls Have More Fun” and omg they totally do.
Filiming Wishlist was a perfect excuse to see her new space.
I last saw Christi a few years ago when I had my own shoot with her and it will always be one of the best moments of my life. I mean, how fun are these pictures?

Grinkie Photography was the perfect choice for a lot of reasons, I mean, her studio and wardrobe options are to die for, but she also works with a lot of girls like us. Like, a LOT of girls like us.
This episode walks us through what a shoot with Christi is like. She explained how to contact her, scheduling the shoot, working with an on-site makeup artist and hair stylist, choosing an outfit, the shoot itself, and selecting the final photos.
In case you’re wondering, I wore two different outfits, both from Wishlist’s sponsor, The Breast Form Store.

The shoot itself lasted about an hour. During this time Christi guided me through posing which was everything from arching my back to how to postion my hand and when to breathe, lol. It was quite a workout. She moved around the studio, looking at the light and my pose and helped me feel comfortable and sexy and beautiful.
Boudoir is… an intimading art form as none of us are built like the models in a Victoria’s Secret catalog. However, when I saw the results I didn’t see my flaws, I saw myself in a way I never have before. You’ll be able to see my reactions in the episode but I couldn’t believe that the girl in the picture was me. I don’t find myself at a loss for words very often (big surprise, I know) but I was speechless.
The hope and the goal of this episode is to show you what a photo shoot can be like. It’s also meant to show you that it can be one of the most powerful, affirming, and beautiful things you will ever do. If this is at the top of your own wishlist, please drop me a line and let’s make your dream a reality, and then let’s turn that reality into a memory you’ll cherise the rest of your life.
I can’t wait to show you all the episode after the editing because I am really excited how it turned out.
Thank you to Christi for an unforgettable day. You can see more of Christi’s work on her Instagram page. Thank you to The Breast Form Store for the gorgeous lingerie and for sponsoring Wishlist.
Love, Hannah
Hannah you have done it again. The Grinkle web site is so enjoyable, and my imagination is in overdrive. Such a skilled photographer that brings out the best in people. Looking forward to seeing you in further pictorials.
