I’m Back by Somewhat Popular Demand

Hi!

I am back from my work trip and I missed you. How have you been??

When I am traveling for work I am 100000000% tangled up in that part of my life. I am working or at work functions or avoiding coworkers who just want to “grab a drink and catch up”. I don’t drink and I am avoiding you (and your temper) for reasons, Barry. I swear, for someone who smells like weed every single time he is in the office he sure is angry and scary. Swearing and screaming at your computer isn’t going to make your exgirlfriend take you back.

There’s a reason we let Barry have his own office. The reason is that his office has a door that he is required to keep shut.

Being immersed in one aspect of my life usually means being a little disconnected from other parts. When I am traveling I am also physically cut off from those parts. I like being home. I like being with my wife and drinking coffee each morning on my couch in my nightgown. Wearing a suit and having coffee in the hotel lobby isn’t nearly as fun. I like being around my books and my pets and my clothes, if I am being honest.

A lot of my work trips are spent either at work (even when I don’t have to be there but I go because it’s something to do) or in my hotel room (where there is nothing to do). When I travel I am going to a very beautifuil part of the world… but without a car I may as well be on the moon. Renting a car or taking an Uber to go sightseeing aren’t really financially feasible.

I am traveling again (booo) in a few weeks but Hannah might come along. It would be fun to be pretty in another city. I wouldn’t fly en femme but I’m sure I could make room in my luggage for her stilettos.

Anyway, I am recovering from five days of noise and overstimulations and delayed flights and Barry’s temper. I’ll be returning to my normal and pointless missives so buckle up.

Love, Hannah

  1. Being closeted works trips have allowed me to dress and go out which helps with being away. I think I would not enjoy being away from home if I did not have the joy of dressing femme.
