Sister Act, Part Two

Hi!

Last week I attended a production at the Children’s Theatre. It was more or less buried in my post but I wrote that I attended the show with my sister.

I have two sisters, and I saw a show with one a few months ago, but this show was with my other.

Like the previous adventure, this was a significant moment for me and for her, I’m assuming. It takes a lot of courage and love to support someone that has a part of them that you’re not quite sure how to process and you’re miles away from understanding. I am sure it took a few minutes for her to adjust seeing her sibling that she has known for her entire life in stilettos and makeup.

But there was no… well, weirdness, from what I can tell. I am usually fairly perceptive when it comes to picking up someone’s shift in energy or behavior. I think I am pretty good at telling when someone is feeling a little off.

Thankfully we just chatted away and enjoyed the night. We both looked amazing, lol.

I am not sure if this will lead to other sisterly adventures, but for one more night, I felt validated, loved, accepted, and like a sister.

Love, Hannah

  1. I am happy for you Hannah! I can only imagine what it must feel like to be unconditionally accepted by an immediate family member.

  2. Hannah, I am glad that both your sisters have had the opportunity to experience a few hours of life with you. Sounds like this outing, like the previous one, went very well and I hope it can become a regular thing.

I have two questions. First, how did this come about. Second, how might it be repeated?

    1. I came out to my sisters over ten years ago. The door was always open to do something like this but it took time and patience for my relationships with thm to strengthen for them to be comfortable. The patience was on my end. If I kept asking again and again they would have likely turned me down. I hope now that they have been out with me they are comfortable going out again but again I have to be patient. 🙂
