Ghosts and Goblins and Gangsters and Girls

Hi!

This past weekend was the monthly MN T-Girls event and we kicked off the spooooooky month of October with a spoooooky visit to one of the most haunted places in Minnesota.

The Twin Cities has a fascinating history of the days of prohibition when Saint Paul was home to a lot of notorious gangsters. One of the popular hideouts was in what is now known as the Wabasha Street Caves. This was where liquor was hidden and where some crooks laid low until the heat was off.

Unless you are the CEO of a multi-billion dollar company that employs a savvy accountant and clever legal team, crime does not pay. Hence, many gangsters and crooks met their end in the very caves that our fabulous little group visited this past Saturday.

The Caves do different themed tours, both in the caves and around the city, but in October they do a few spoooooky tours which takes groups through the caves telling us ghost stories and tales of ghost sightings.

We were treated to an hour long spook-tacular tour where we heard tales of vengeful spirits and curious ghosts. It was a lot of fun.

We took pictutes with the hope we could capture evidence of ghosts but whether or not we succeeded is up to you. The picture below shows what some people believe are ghost orbs (look at the brick wall behind the table with the black tablecloth)…

…and this picture will finally settle, once and for all, the mystery of whether or not ghosts are real.

It was a lovely and spoooooky (okay I’ll stop) way to spend a gloomy Saturday. Thank you to the lovely people at the Caves for a fun afternoon.

Love, Hannah

  1. I believe in Bigfoot. Possibly aliens from outer space. But not ghosts – the ghost shows are fake and although sometimes fun to watch, fake as a 6 dollar bill!

  2. It was a fun outing, and the caves seem like a really cool place! I’ll definitely go back for some of the other tours in the future.
