Yay! A brand new episode of Wishlist!
This episode spotlights Venus de Mars!
Venus is a musician who has been recording and performing since the 1980’s, both as a solo artist as well as with her groups, specifically All The Pretty Horses. If you’d like to listen to Venus’ music, you can find it here.
This episode is a little different from previous ones. Wishlist focuses on non-binary people who have a dream and they want to make it happen. This episode features Venus, someone who already made their dream happen.

Thank you for this amazing interview with an amazing performer and inspiration. You were the one who turned me on to Venus’ music in the first place and to see you interviewing her was amazing. Her historical perspective was fascinating especially in light of what’s currently going on.

I was not aware of Venus before this and it’s a bit of a shame. Not only as an artist, but as an icon and someone who really has perspective on where things were and where they are going.
On a personal note, this was an amazing project to work on. It was also a challenge, since I’ve never done a long form interview like this before.
I was inspired in several ways by this project, please note the closing song is not our usual theme “Dreaming While Awake” but instead a song I call “The Dark Arts of Venus” inspired by Venus’ DIY synth recordings.
Now I really need to trek out, not only to formally meet Hannah and Sophie in person, but to see Venus perform!
