It’s Raining Hammers, It’s Raining Nails

When it rains, it pours.

And like Tom Waits said, sometimes it rains really heavy.

It’s not been an easy year so far and lately the perspective is trying to get through the day but goodness this week has been expensive.

Huge plumbing issue on Monday. Bam! $1900.

Garage door maintenance on Wednesday. Bam! Another $1900.

And last night? Check engine flickers on.

I AM DONE.

I usually write posts in advance, but this week I did not have the wherewithal to do anything but hand my debit card over to random dudes in our house.

So, instead of anything interesting or thought provoking, I finally posted the pictures from the final photo shoot of 2024. All of the outfits are from Xdress and Little For Big and were taken by my friend Ali of Malone Portraits.

Here is just a peek at the pictures but more of them can be found here.

Hope you all had a better week, lol.

Love, Hannah

  2. Cute pics Hannah! Yes, life is expensive and the surprise costs are never welcome, but will always be there. Hope you are well 💕

  3. Nope. I had a thoroughly shitty week. Like yours, it featured unexpected expensive home repairs and surprise warning lights on the car last night. Whee!

I always preferred They Might Be Giants’ suggestion that, “When it rains, it snows.” Because that recognizes the heavy load, and that it accumulates. So you’re dealing with both the precipitation and the repercussions for a longer period of time.

  4. Oh Hanna; I feel your pain. One year we replaced our stove, fridge, washer, dryer, and hot water heater. With three kids we sucked it up and put a week’s vacation in Virginia Beach on plastic. Sending hugs…

  5. Who really cares. Stop being a bunch of whiney, self indulgent premaddonas. Life is life. We are no more and no less important than anyone else just because we wear women’s clothing.
