Last Saturday was the monthly MN T-Girls event! It was lovely! Exclamation point!
The very very very first MN T-Girls event was held at a coffee shop in south Minneapolis. It was owned by a transwoman and it was wonderful to have a space where the LGBTQ+ community had a safe and welcoming spot to be.
I was sad when it closed and I felt it was a loss to the community.
Fortunately there is a new place for the queer community which has the very clever name of Queermunity. Queermunity is located in Uptown and it’s not only a coffee shop but it’s also a true community center. There are resources available to us, such as hygiene and health products as well as referrals to gender affirming care. Queermunity is also an event center which hosts art galleries and movie nights.
A small group of us spent some time chatting and taking a needed respite from the world.

It was a lovely day and I am very happy we have this space.
Love, Hannah
