Pillow Talk!

Hi! I have a new article for Pillow Talk, a series I am doing with Xdress!

I am asked a lot WHY I am on social media. It’s a fair question. It doesn’t feel too long ago when social media was a lot more civil and a fun way to connect and interact with others.

It’s a little strange to see how quickly it’s changed, but that’s life, baby.

It has gotten a little less friendly and manners and decorum aren’t as common as they used to be. Goodness I sound old.

When I branched out from just my website to sites like Twitter and now BlueSky, it was, admittingly, a way to get a little attention. I liked seeing nice comments about my pictures and I intended to use social media as a way to direct people to my own website.

That attention isn’t really that important to me anymore, but I’m still there, posting a photo everyday. The right-wing psychopaths on Twitter make me second guess my decision to stay there, but I have enough nice interactions with others to help me tolerate that.

Additionally, being online does elevate my profile. This has led to collaborations with my friends Shawna on Wishlist and Annabelle for photo edits, as well as partnering with sites such as Xdress. These relationships create fun projects.

There are a lot of things I put up with on social media but as long as I don’t think about the downsides of it too much I’ll continue to be on there.

Love, Hannah

  2. Hannah you are really out there when it comes to your online presence. That comes with the risks of getting hateful comments. But you are a real inspiration to those of us who are more in the closet. I check your blog every day.
    Hugs, Kerri
