Yet Another Photo Shoot

It feels like forever since I’ve had a photo shoot. I did one in February but since that was a shoot with Underdare for their cute products it wasn’t really an afternoon where I could wear whatever I wanted.

After a chaotic year so far, I was finally able to schedule a shoot with Shannonlee.

There were a lot of things I wanted to feature, but in the end we just had time for a dress by Little For Big, two outfits from Xdress, my new corset and bra and panty from Glamorous Corset and Allure (respectively) and two other looks.

And yes, I finally did the cliched schoolgirl thing, hahaha.

The picutres in this post are not the amazing ones that Shannonlee took (they will come later) but rather quick shots between outfits.

It was a super fun day and I kinda needed this, not going to lie.

This summer will mark ten years of photography with my friend. I like looking back over the years to see how our shoots have changed. Each shoot, for the most part, is more fun than the previous one. I have gotten more confident with each session and I am more… honest in the shoots.

What I mean is that if I am really feeling myself, and I am feeling beautiful and sexy and confident and brave, I try to let myself react to how I am feeling.

But if I am feeling shy or nervous or anxious or even sad, those feelings come out in the photos as well.

Photo shoots have an element of theatre to them. There are pictures when I am looking like a serious, no-nonsense dominatrix but two seconds before the picture I was laughing with Shannonlee. I might be wearing a sissy dress and trying to look sweet and vulnerable and naive but at the same time chatting with her about politics.

Although a photo shoot is sometimes done for my own edification, they can also be a part of a retrospection that focuses on a very personal and vulnerable aspect of myself.

But in the end these pictures chronicle a wonderful friendship and partnership with Shannonlee, one of the most important people in my world.
