Hi! I have a new article for Pillow Talk, a series I am doing with Xdress!

“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”
-Arthur C. Clarke
The above quote popped into my head as I was preparing to post this article.
At some point in our lives, we’ve all wondered why we do this. Why are we drawn to certain clothes? Why are we who we are?
Of course, before we can address WHY we are who we are, we need to determine IF there is a reason we are who we are.
Answers have been sought that range from genetics to hormones to how we were raised to sexuality…
But there’s no conclusive answer that can be applied to every single one of us.
Except this:
We were born this way.
But the quest for a reason marches on.
Love, Hannah
That’s one of my favorite Clarke quotes. But why do we need a reason? I like what Vonnegut said about humans:
“We are here on earth to fart around. Don’t let anyone tell you any different.”
I’m not a big Vonnegut fan, but I appreciate that notion. That doing things for no good reason other than because we want to is an integral part of being a human being.

One thing I’ve tried to get through to folks is that you don’t always need a reason for something. Sometimes you can do something simply because you enjoy it! Of course, don’t say that on a number of different social media platforms, you’ll be told in no uncertain terms that you have to do things the way the Internet tells you and you’re not allowed to enjoy it.
