Supermodel Saturday!

I was SO excited when this was announced last month.

I’ve been getting my makeup done by Betsey, the owner of Luminous Beauty for years and I’ve lived the pinup girl life three times thanks to the amazing photography of Christi, the owner of Grinkie Girls.

Planning an event of beauty and community with these two amazing women was SO much fun and it felt that the day would NEVER come.

But it did! And that day was this past Saturday!

It was a WHIRLWIND. The girls got their hair and makeup done by Luminous Beauty and once we were all dolled up, we strutted into the studio and posed, smiled, pouted, preened, and winked at the camera.

Although makeovers with Betsey are nothing new to me, it doesn’t mean that I am used to how amazingly talented Betsey is. Every appointment with her is so affirming and, well, glamourous. You don’t realize the benefits of contouring and color correcting until Betsey gets her brushes on you.

After my time in the spotlight was finished, Christi and I went through the photos and chose the best ones.

I love watching creative people work and I had so much fun seeing Christi work with the other girls, like my friend Alicia. Christi just KNOWS how to pose you and how to make the light touch you in a perfect, delicate way. She captures the you that youdream about and then BOOM. There you are.

I cannot believe how FAST the afternoon went. I blinked my eye and the day was finished.

Buuuut not before we planned another event, but BIGGER and GIRLIER for next year 😉
