Ask Hannah!

Okay, hopefully this is a fun question. Let’s pretend you just won a $100 gift card. What would you spend it on? (Not saying I won anything and am stumped for ideas… just a hypothetical here. 😉 )

Yay! Gifts! Yay! Shopping!

I am always conflicted when I receive a gift. I feel guilty and I probably always will.

When I get a gift card I daydream about fun things, but almost always use it on something responsible. Amazon, Target, and Visa gift cards are always used on things our house needs.

But don’t get me wrong. I am always appreciative of a gift card even if the gift card helps with getting, oh, I don’t know, lightbulbs or paper towels.

Getting a gift card for something that HAS to be used for something fun is the best. Sure, I COULD use an Amazon gift card for a new dress or a new book, but I will probably use it for something responsible. This is probably because I feel guilt with receiving gifts. The holiday season creates a lot of anxiety for this very reason. I love celebrating my birthday but it’s honestly hard receiving gifts. Some years I ask my wife to not get me anything.

But your question IS fun, lol. I don’t mean to dull any sparkle by bringing up any of issues.

There’s a LOT of things I want that I can’t justify in buying. These are always fun things. Not lightbulbs or paper towels. For example, I am in love with Katie and Laura’s Fancy Satin Panties. I keep going to their site and picking out a few panties but at around $30 a pair I have so far resisted.

Continuing the lingerie theme, I am very drawn to vintage lingerie, particularly What Katie Did.

I’ve seen a lot of girls over the years wearing beautiful dresses from Venus and I recently purchased one and I heart it. I’ll wear it for… something soon.

So, there we have it. The three websites I spend a lot more time visiting than I should, especially considering I fill up my shopping cart and then close the tab when the pink fog clears. 🙂

Love, Hannah

Have a question for me?  Oh yes you do.  Ask me here!

  1. Hi Hannah,

I would use it for a pedicure.

I often think about what I would do if I won the lottery. First it would be to complete my electrolysis very quickly, then I would get FFS, followed by GRS, pierced ears, hair highlights and a long vacation completely in fem.

    It is fun to dream.

  2. I love that there is an actual name for when I get excited about shopping for clothes. This Summer was more of a category 3 pink tsunami! Spend it on something you need. There will never be enough panties to quench our thirst.

    1. The commercial story board could go something like this….Envision a car driving through a pink fog and slowly coming into view is a herd of silky panties floating across the road. 😂 If we can’t laugh at ourselves then what is the fun of it all.

  3. Hannah – not what, but definitely where! There’s a new (relatively new – I think) store in the Minneapolis area called Daily Thread. Their main store is at Eden Prairie Center. They have a lot of very beautiful things there – and a lot of plus sizes for us bigger girls. I know they also have some other locations in the metro. Anyway – just bought three things there for about $100; skirt, top, and a dress. Great stuff, good prices, plus sizes, and a very friendly staff (and no, I don’t work there! 😁). Good luck!

  4. Hi Girls –

my favorite gift card is from Lululemon – they are from Canada which is always a plus. Their clothes are super stylish, well made with great fabrics. I feel special whenever i go into the shop and the folks are so enthusiastic about helping with something you really like.

My therapist refused to accept a fee increase – so i got back at her with a big fat Lululemon gift card. Sundance also has nice stuff for a gift card; i wore a gray cashmere dress last night for Halloween and i got two great pairs of boot-cut jeans as well. Nice jewelry too.

I like the idea of a targeted – gift card – compel the recipient to have fun – lotsa love to all

  5. I would save it and after widow shopping , add more to it then go out and buy some darling looking dresses and skirts or anything else that fits my fancy , but for sure it would all go towards my feminine side .

  6. Just a comment on Katie & Laura’s panties. They’re definitely worth the money. Although I haven’t had “the operation”. I live full-time as a woman, 24/7/365. I’ve had several pairs for more than 2 years, and I haven’t had to replace any of them. I have 2 minor complaints: They’re not as fancy as I’d like, and they’re a tad skimpy for someone who doesn’t like to tuck. 🙂
