Thank You, Pride

Oh hi! So, Pride was this past weekend and it was lovely. Planning an event in June could mean anything from sweltering hot temperatures to storms but this weekend’s weather could only be described as “lovely”.

Okay, so it was windy on Saturday but that’s better than melting in the heat. In fact it was so nice I was able to wear leather this year, lol.

I am not sure how many years the MN T-Girls has had a booth at Pride and every year it gets more expensive and every year I swear it’s our last year there and every year when it’s over I get excited about the next one.

Last most years, I was only able to be at our booth on Saturday and I had so much fun. We chatted with Pride goers, we talked to friends and families of non-binary people, we talked to those who were newly out, those who were still figuring things out, and others looking for community and support.

It was wonderful and fun. The people watching is amazing and for every drag queen there is a woman walking around giving Free Mom Hugs. Amazing.

I didn’t get to do any wandering this year but I did run into my friend Christie of Grinkie Girls. I really need to do another shoot with her.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and thank you to anyone who helped make this possible, whether it was girls I’ve never met before who donated money to help with booth expenses or to the amazing MN T-Girls who made the weekend a success. Thank you to Twin Cities Pride for a safe and well organized weekend. What a wonderful and amazing community we have. I am grateful and appreciative.

See you next year!

Love, Hannah

  2. Thank you so much to Hannah and all of the girls who helped support the booth this year. This personally gave me motivation and courage to go out for the first time. Having a destination at such a welcoming and safe environment was a perfect opportunity to walk through my fear and take that next literal step in my journey. Still sinking in and felt good about the experience. Although it seemed surreal, so glad the support and encouragement was there from others.
