A Whirlwind of Wishes

Whenever I start anything creative, I have no idea how it will go. I’m not clairvoyant and I go off of vibes which is, admittingly, not a good basis for doing anything that requires planning and coordination.

Whether it’s a painting or Wishlist, an idea will come to me and I’ll let it bounce around in my head and I’ll decide if it would be fun to do. The success of it, regardless of how that would be measured, is the last thing I consider when I decide to do something.

My thought process is:

I HAVE AN IDEA

I LET THE IDEA RUN WILD IN MY HEAD NOT UNLIKE A DOG WITH A LOT OF ENERGY RUNNING MADLY WITH NO SENSE OF DIRECTION AROUND A DOG PARK AFTER BEING COOPED UP IN A HOUSE FOR A WEEK

BOUNCE THE IDEA OFF OF ONE PERSON AND LISTEN TO THEIR FEEDBACK

IS THE IDEA STILL FUN? IF YES, DO THE IDEA

The execution of the idea is always random and sometimes I’ll get halfway through it and realize it’s not feasible. Figuring things out when we get there is not an unfair comparison to my thought process.

However, since I don’t consider if something will be successful (again, regardless of how said success is measured), I am not burdened with potential or realized results when I do something.

Is what I am doing FUN? If so, I’ll probably keep doing it.

This “process”, or concept of a process, was the energy behind Wishlist. I had no idea if it would be successful and I have no idea if it is or if it will be. I mean, we’ve only posted one episode so it’s hard to gauge right now. In many regards, even just one episode is a major achievement considering how many stars needed to align to make it happen.

But the second episode is being edited, the third episode was filmed last week, and the fourth episode is being shot tomorrow. We have another episode scheduled to be shot on November 16th and a few other ideas percolating.

Speaking humbly, I think that’s pretty cool.

I am so proud of the wishers, too. The things we are doing tend to fall out of their comfort zone and it’s empowering to watch them do something that they have always wanted to do. For example, last week’s episode featued Stacy shopping at the Mall of America.

This is a project that will rely on momentum, similar to when the MN T-Girls started. Our first outing was successful, but the second outing was canceled because no one was able to attend. When Wishlist was announced, I received a few emails but it’s not like it broke the internet. But after the first episode was posted I started to get a little more interest and episodes and wishes started to get scheduled. I think once people saw what this was about, it provided them with a lot more context. I feel that future episodes will represent Wishlist even more.

If fun is the goal, we are nailing it. Filming the episodes is super fun. I mean, mini golfing in stilettos? So fun. The girls on the show have been so fun to work with. Sophie, who is filming and recording and advising and keeping things moving forward is also super fun to work with. The fun train keeps barreling down the tracks as Shawna edits and scores the episode and shares her progress.

Wishlist IS work, but goodness it’s fun work.

Love, Hannah

  1. I wish for the day when all of us, anywhere and everywhere in the world are safe and free to express and be ourselves. I commend and appriciate your work towards that end. I come from a place where it is deemed illigal.

  2. HANNAH,

ISith some of myREAD YOU EVERY DAY AND HAVE BEEN the same with FEMULATE for more than ten years and femulating for near on fifteen.. Still learning and enjoying particularly when interacting with some of my CIS girl friends. Was a low point last week was hit with a four day bout of food poisioning. Expecting this to be near the last act began laying plans for making Maria and all things Marie to disappear.

It took several more days to slowly recover and gain my strength back. Still not but above the 95 percentile. Woke up this morning as Marie – sleeping bra and panties and silky PJs. Began the normal morning routine -brush teeth – wash hands- Turned on the PC, checked the bank status (all good), same with E-Mail then dove into STANA and Femulate. The best part of the routine- usually a delight. This morning a true joy reading your (Part One). It was so much like mine.

The doldrems of the past week or so “GONE”. LIFE is worh living and Marie is worth being every minute of the day.

    Thank You for the pick-me-up.

  4. I want to take this time to say a big thank you to Hannah for putting this together and bringing me in on it. Its been fun and exciting to have a creative outlet for my talents and to do something I’m actually excited to work on. Its been a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Especially now, with Sophie and Hannah flexing their creativity, we’re not only doing something and having fun and being creative, but also doing something poignant. Its fun to be a part of a team that’s doing something like this.
