T-Girls in the HOUSE

Okay, this is going to sound kind of silly, but when I started to think about the things that the MN T-Girls could do all those years ago, visiting the James J. Hill House was one of the first things that came to mind.

One of the goals of the group is to do normal things, to help girls like me experience the world other than LGBTQ+ specific venues.

I wanted us to visit museums and go to the movies and out to dinner, but I am also interested in local history. We’ve done a few events over the years that focus on some of the more notable aspects of the Twin Cities, specifically the gangster bus tour we did last year.

One notable figure in our city’s history was the aforementioned James J. Hill. Hill was, according to the Minnesota Historical Society’s website, (a) railroad executive who was a pivotal force in the transformation of the Northwest, earning the name “The Empire Builder.” Anyhoo, railroad tycoons need a place to live so he built a big mansion that is now open to tours.

Last Saturday a small group of us learned about Hill (a bit of a bastard) and wandered around his gorgeous home. It was a very normal thing to do and we were treated wonderfully by the staff and the other guests.

It was a fun afternoon and it’s nice that after over one hundred events we are still finding new adventures to have.

Love, Hannah

  1. Thanks for picking another fun event for us, Hannah! I also want to say that it brings me joy that we, along with a lot of other people, spent the day stomping around this old bastard’s beloved family home, tracking in filth from outside. I choose to imagine that he would’ve been upset by this.

  2. Beautiful picture of the ladies hopefully someday I find the courage to tell my wife about my desire to dress in womens clothing and join you lovely ladies on your outings. Jill

  3. Hannah, I feel you let the rest of your group down by dressing like it was your first time going out. That outfit is…well, questionable. I don’t want to be snarky but you pen this blog dishing out advice and opinions so I’m tossing a freebie back at ya. Angela

    1. Hanna is anything but conventional. Always imaginative in style and presentation. Funny duddy criticism of the outfit worn at the House event is not necessary. We enjoy the artistic approach of each pictorial.

    2. What an inmature and rude comment to make. Underneath a comments like that is usually someone who must not be feeling very good about themself.

I have followed her blog for over a year and not once do I recall her ever making a derogatory comment about how others in the community dress. When you act like this you are doing a disservice to all of us as we need to support each other, not tear each other down. But I understand you probably aren’t getting enough attention. Grow up!

You look cute as a button Hannah!

  4. The replies to my comment, telling me how rude I was, that in turn attack me with vitriol. It’s all too predictable.

My opinion stands. Not of Hannah but the outfit. See the difference? Now I shall go back to my unappreciated life that is devoid of attention and attempt to grow up.
