Where She Stalks…

I have been blogging (do they still call it that?) for a long time. I’ve had this website for almost ten years and my previous website was around four years, I think.

It’s not easy to stick with any routine and when someone has been doing anything consistently for a while it looks a little overwhelming. But any habit, good or bad, takes time to develop. Once you gain a little momentum and a little encouragement it tends to get easier.

Of course, you have to love what you do. Gaining satisfaction is key to any hobby, afterall.

A big part of most things is faking it. For example, my website might give the idea that all my posts are carefully planned out in advance but in all honesty I rarely know what the next post will be about.

I am writing this about ten minutes before I plan on publishing this and twelve hours ago I really had no idea what I would ramble on and on about today. The reality of what goes on behind the scenes of anything is usually very different than what an audience sees. It’s interesting when a movie you enjoyed is revealed to have been a production nightmare.

At any rate, I like it when my posts are completely random day to day. Some websites I visit feature the same content with a little variation from post to post. Which is great, to be honest. As long as the blogger loves what they do, who am I to judge?

The posts this week have been pretty heavy so in a complete swerve let’s end the week with a little brevity. My friend Sophie lent her digital editing skills (no AI) to creating a very fun book cover featuring my shoes.

I love playing around in Photoshop but seeing what my friends create really inspires me to up my game.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and can cuddle up with a good, trashy book.

Love, Hannah

  1. Hannah, this made me laugh because I feel completely called out. I’m the total opposite. If I don’t know exactly what I’m going to write about, it drives me up the wall. So when I go down a rabbit hole, my posts definitely end up looking very same-y for a few days.

But honestly, I enjoy it. I’m learning so much about myself in the process that it feels natural to pass that along to the next girl who might need it. I feel a little silly about it sometimes, but hey… at least I’m trying.

    1. As long as your blog is sincere and brings you joy, you should keep writing whatever you wish. Blogging is a commitment and posting on a consistent basis should be celebrated. Love you website, btw
