Take a Look and You’ll See Into your Imagination

Wednesday’s post featured a lovely image by my friend Blanca Alfani.

After I wrote it I realized that a large wall of text is visually uninteresting and I asked her if she’d be up for creating an image to break up allllll those words and to visually capture the metaphor of one opening the door to embrace one’s identity.

And she nailed it! Twice!

She sent over two lovely images and I went back and forth on which one to use. I wanted to show the other option as not only do I want to show off her work (all made without AI) but also because it inspired a little thought.

Anyway, here’s the image.

I think many of us, myself included, would love to open our closet door and discover a wardrobe like this. I know I would.

We may not necessarily want allllll that pink but we want to have this because not only do we have endless femme outfits to create and choose from, but also because of what it would mean.

Having a wardrobe like this or even just having ONE pair of panties, is a victory. It means you have overcome the part of you that was denying who you are. You may want more than anything to have something pretty and femme to wear but taking the steps towards it may be the hardest mission ever.

I’ve been there.

Yes, one pair of panties may not be the wardrobe you dream of, but it’s one step closer. That one pair of panties is proof that you can push away the emotional and mental barriers that prevented you from embracing who you are.

Next time you feel discouraged about all of this, slip on those panties, paint your toenails, do something that reminds you that you have overcome the intangible wall that held you back for so long.

Love, Hannah

  1. This is so true. Granted, there is inevitably the law of diminishing return, but whether its slipping on that one pair of panties or donning a cute outfit and going out for coffee, one can feel the boundaries disappearing and the chains falling away.
