I have a new article for Pillow Talk, a new series I am doing with Xdress!
I am asked a lot about style and I know nothing about style, lol. I have no idea what is stylish. I don’t follow trends or designers and I am completely unaware of what is popular at any given moment.
But I do have eyeballs.
I see what other girls are wearing and I think about whether it’s cute or not or if it’s something I could pull off. I look at mannequins and I look at girls modeling clothes on websites and I am either inspired or ambivalent.
If I am inspired, I’ll try the look. If I like the look and if I feel comfortable and confident, then it pops into my wardrobe.
It’s not unlike being at a buffet. You look at options, if something looks appealing you may add it to your plate and try it. If you like it, you may go back for more.
I admit this is not a very elegant way to find one’s style. It’s very much trial and error but I feel that so much of what we do and wear is learning by doing.
I am flattered when people ask me about style, though, lol. I’m like “girl, if you knew my thought process you probably would rethink asking me about that” but I am happy to share my perspective and how I approach finding clothes that I like.

I definitely feel this one. I’ve usually gone for a more Goth/fetish type look, but now that I’m going out more as Shawna, I’m finding I’m trying more looks and styles to see what works for me. Even down to wig selection and hair color. So, I definitely suggest trying different looks and styles. I’ve tried a few looks recently that I thought I could NEVER pull off, and while they weren’t my favorite, they did work and even looked good! So, don’t be afraid to try something outside your comfort zone.

I don’t have style I’m an old school biker that fell for a girl that does she calls me her bear, but if anyone upsets her they upset me she’s my world and I never thought I’d find love again

Having options for your style is what makes having our girl side so great
Women just have so many choices and yes just look around if your going out to blend as long as it’s not a formal or some other such thing the choices are endless for the ladies
