I have many friends and customers in the LGBTQ+ community. With the recent events happening around us… and what feels like hate mounting, what can I do to help support my friends and customers? Feeling sad and frustrated!
Continue what you are doing.
If you have a business and it’s one that people can visit, then your business becomes a safe place. We need places like that, now more than ever.
Listen to your friends.
Remain an ally.
Hug them.
Fight for them.
Vote for them.

After November 6 there was a period of time where fatalism prevailed and fatigue took its toll. In recent days, however, the lethargy and resignation have begun to be replaced by determined resistance in the courts, on the streets and in the halls of government. Now every new outrage is being challenged. I feel that momentum is building.
You can help by contacting your representatives in the House and Senate, particularly if they are normally compliant members of the ruling party. You may not change their minds, but you can help make sure that every protest against irresponsible, insane and illegal actions of this administration chips away at their complacency.
