I am often asked what someone can do in Minnesota when you’re en femme.
I don’t like this question because I feel my response isn’t helpful and kinda bitchy. My answer is usually you should do whatever you want. Like books? Go to a bookstore. Like football? Go to a football game.
Simple, direct, obvious, but not necessarily helpful.
I know I am being asked about inclusive events and locations but keep in mind that there’s very few places that are immune to someone being rude to girls like us (or people in general).
At any rate, I wanted to share with you a couple of events that are coming up that you might be interested in.
TC Pride is holding a makeup tutorial class on September 23rd from 6pm until 8pm. From their website:
A class that focuses on every day makeup that is gender-affirming. Topics covered will be shade matching, contour and highlight, and optionally eyeliner, eyeshadow and lashes. The class will be inclusive of all trans identities that wish to explore makeup. Bring your existing makeup bag and we will teach you how to work with what you already have!
This Arts & Culture Vibrant Storefronts is funded, in part, by the City of Minneapolis Arts & Cultural Affairs Department.
The other event is the very next day at Arc Value Village. Their New Hope location is hosting a gender affirming shopping event on September 24th from 7pm until 9pm.
There is always SOMETHING happening in the Twin Cities. You can keep up on different events by checking out Queermunity’s website and at Twin Cities Gay Scene’s event calendar.
Have fun!
Love, Hannah
