Hannah, how do you get clothes that don’t make your shoulders look wide? Yours always look so proportionate.
Thank you!
Something to keep in mind is that I only post photos that I find are flattering, lol. What I mean is that there are many pictures that show my shoulders or other physical features in more masculine ways than I would like.
I say this because I don’t want you to compare yourself to me or to anyone else.
But I know what you mean. For years I stayed away from spaghetti strapped dresses because I couldn’t really hide my broad shoulders.

My shoulders look pretty broad here.
I can’t really do anything about this part of me short of taking estrogen, but what I can do is minimize this part of me. When I pose for a photo if I let my arms drop then my shoulders will do the same thing. Camera angles can also impact how parts of your body look in a photo.
The photo below shows me with my arms reaching out to the side of the buildings and you can see a straight, long line from one shoulder to the next…

…but this photo, taken on the same day, in the same dress, has my arms dangling which causes my shoulders to droop a bit. Same body, same shoulders, but that strong line that is prominent in the top photo has softened a bit.

Proportion is important when it comes to presenting. When I worked with The Breast Form Store to select what style and size would be best, we discussed my height and weight for that very reason. My breast forms are larger than I would have selected, but when worn I feel they are the right size.
Proportion is something we can often control. My shoulders look less prominent when I have my corset on. This creates an hourglass shape and brings my hips out a bit. This can minimize the inverted triangle or rectangle shape that we can have.
Compare the two photos here, one with a shape enhancing corset, the other without.

Thigh/hip pads also help with proportioning.

The clothes you wear can also help with minimizing your shoulders. This is super helpful.
A lot of my presentation is practical smoke and mirrors. But a lot of this is attitude and deciding to stop caring that other people might think I am too tall, too broad shouldered, too masculine to wear what I want.
Love, Hannah
