Fairies Wear Platform Heels, Right?

I am finally getting started on posting pictures from my last three photo shoots.

I try to stagger picture posts with, well, non-picture posts. I think several days in a row of just photos would get a little boring. I have about a half-dozen longer, more thought-out posts in various stages of writing that I am also working on. The idea is to alternate between picture posts and written posts over the next few weeks. I also have two more reviews to write which are a blend of these types of updates.

Anyway.

I don’t like to think of being en femme as playing dress-up, but Hannah sure loves playing dress-up. I like costumes, I like certain outfits that are fun and creative and sexy and cute. It’s easy to be… misunderstood when I do play dress-up, though.

I can’t always say why I am drawn to a certain dress. This attraction is similar to why I can’t explain why I was drawn to femme clothes in the first place. Sometimes, and I think we can all relate to this, a dress just looks SO fun to wear.

In my wardrobe there is everything from latex to frills. Thigh high boots to sissy dresses. None of these outfits mean anything. I am fully aware that some outfits are very associated with a certain… lifestyle or kink, most than likely in a sexual way, but I assure you that nothing I wear is arousing to me.

When I wear an outfit like that for a shoot, I try to… fit the mood of it. I beam like a princess in a floor-length evening down. I stare at you coldly in a tight leather dress.

Sometimes I feel uninspired when planning for a shoot. When this happens I let my mind wander into dress-up territory and ideas tend to shyly tiptoe out of the reaches of my imagination. This is also how I daydream about Halloween costumes.

For last year’s Halloween party I wanted to actually have an actual costume. I feel like the last few years have been a little boring. Obviously I wanted to do something super femme and super cute, and what’s more femme or more cute than a fairy?

I ordered some light-up wings, a green glittery dress, and new white heels and did my best to sprinkle fairy dust that night.

And then I wore it again for a shoot.

This was fun and I should let my imagination take over more often.

Love, Hannah

  1. You look amazing, as usual! And fairy wings are a staple at the Renaissance Fest. Just saying, you’re already halfway to a great costume for this summer…
