Sometimes you hear about… something and it sounds so bizarre that you can’t even begin to form a thought about it. Like, does it sound interesting? Does it sound like it would be fun? Does it sound like a train wreck?
You don’t know! Sometimes it sounds just too weird.
That was my thinking when I saw the synopsis for ‘Head Over Heels’ a new musical by Minneapolis Musical Theatre now showing at Lush Lounge in Minneapolis.

MMT returns to LUSH Lounge & Theater this fall with HEAD OVER HEELS– a bold, glittering, and gloriously irreverent celebration of love, set to the electrifying music of the iconic 1980s all-female rock band the Go-Go’s. Inspired by a 16th-century English poem, and featuring a book by Jeff Whitty adapted by James Magruder, this wildly entertaining romp follows a royal family on a madcap quest to save their kingdom from extinction — only to discover that the key to its survival lies within their own hearts. Bursting with hits like “We Got the Beat” and “Vacation,” this joyfully unrestrained production celebrates love in all its forms and delivers the irresistible message that “Heaven is a Place on Earth.” HEAD OVER HEELS will be directed by Kari Steinbach, and features choreography by Michael Terrell Brown and music direction by Mary Cay Stone.
Of course as soon as I saw the word HEELS my interest piqued and I thought it would be a fun MN T-Girls event sooooooo that’s what we did last weekend for the September event!
A small group of us bounced along in our seats to some of the most popular music from the 80’s as we watched a very silly production of a play written hundreds of years ago.
It was fun! The performances were sincere and silly.
Unfortunately I didn’t get any good photos of us that night but we looked amazing.
