Hi! I have a new article for Pillow Talk, a series I am doing with Xdress!

This is probably the topic I am asked the most about.
Annnnd here’s my little hack about whether or not I am going to support a business.
I look at their social media pages. I look at who they follow and who follows them. I look at the content they post or repost. If they support our current president, such as following him, then I will absolutely not go there. If there is a pride flag in their bio I’ll be more apt to frequent the business. I look for things like “All are welcome here” or if they celebrate Pride month.
This is more common when it comes to small, independent businesses.
Of course, a business is just that, a business. Businesses and stores are managed by people and just because a person works for a business that is inclusive and has values that match up with mine, there’s no guarantee that the people themselves will be welcoming to the queer community (and yes, I feel that transgender and nonbinary people are part of that).
However, when someone works for a small, independent business it’s likely that they themselves share most of the values.
The only way you’ll know if you’ll have a plesasant experience somewhere is to go there. In life we learn by doing and the only way you’ll know about a shop, a cafe, or whatever is if you go there yourself.
Love, Hannah
Speaking as someone who doesn’t have Facebook or Twitter or anything, I’m not able to check a business’s profile or page for that information. But Google listings often contain similar information too. Lots of businesses have an LGBTQ+ friendly icon on there, which is helpful and something I pay attention too.

Most business won’t care how you are dressed as long as it is somewhat appropriate,(not naked). As long as you have money and are willing to spend it.

I have gone out to about everywhere from drag, crossdressing gay clubs to grocery stores and many clothing shops just to see if i am passing. I still don’t really know mostly because nobody cares. If I get a second look I assume its because I am so good looking especially if its from a guy (LOL). I find going to makeup counters in man mode kind of fun especially when I tell then its for me. The clerk in all cases just wants a sale. They don’t care what you do with the product after the sale. In girl mode its fun too, It certainly tests your passing ability. Sometimes good sometimes not so good but always fun. And isn’t that why we do this thing of ours Sallee
