Too Hot for Flickr

So my Flickr account was suspended but after a little back and forth with their administration team it was restored. They were actually pretty helpful with identifying the photos that led to the suspension as some pictures violated their content guidelines (for FREE accounts, anyway).

I’ve had my account since 2012 and have over 800 photos, but none of them include what could be considered TECHNICALLY nudity. I mean, a thong isn’t quite nudity, right? Right? At any rate I was surprised by the suspension considering how long some of these photos have been up.

Their guidelines are pretty reasonable I suppose but I was surprised (at first) by the pictures they flagged.

For example, per their guidelines:

Nudity includes any content that shows exposed genitalia and buttocks.

So that explains why these two pictures (amongst others) were a problem:

Fair enough, I suppose. I mean, technically I was in violation here even though I have the flattest booty in the world.

Another guidelines states:

Other explicit or graphic imagery for the purposes of sexual gratification (for example, sex toys or used fetish-related paraphernalia).

Given this verbiage, I guess I can see why this image was flagged:

It’s kind of funny because taking this photo was nowhere near as erotic as it looks. The chain was wrapped around the hotel bathroom door.

The final category that I violated was this:

Voyeurism: Any image taken of someone without their knowledge or consent for the purpose of sexualization. Also known as creepshots, or upskirt;

These two photos were specifically marked:

Again, these pictures are TECHNICALLY upskirt but my arm and legs are concealing what they need to conceal (in what I think is an artful manner). Also, is it really an upskirt photo if I am posting a picture of myself? Again, yes, technically, but usually upskirt implies non-consent and I totally consent here lol.

All of this sounds very bitchy but it’s not meant to. These guidelines are important and are in place for a reason. I don’t think they are egregious or anything and as I mentioned they technically violate their rules and I am all about technicals.

Anyway, I am glad to be out of Flickr Jail.

Love, Hannah
